Bibiana Abella Diaz
Bibiana Abella Diaz was born on 17 August 1917 in Naga, Albay, Philippines. She was the eldest child of Domingo Diaz and Concepcion Isaac Abella. Babing, as she was nicknamed, attended the the Colegio de Santa Isabel in Naga, and later the Assumption Convent in Manila. Babing eloped with Crisanto Nicolas Guysayko and their union was blessed with four children: Maria Concepcion (Marichi), Maria Peñafrancia (Penny), Maria Luisa and Crisanto (Colacho). Babing was an educator at the Assumption Convent in Manila and served as the institution’s principal for many years. Dedicated to pursuing further education, she received a Master’s degree at Fordham University in New York in the 1950s. In 1971, she was attending another Master’s program at De La Salle University when she died at the age of 54.
